  1. Firstly, wash and soak masoor dal in water for 10 minutes..
  2. Then heat the oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds and a bay leaf.When they splutter, add curry leaves and ginger. saute till it turns aromatic..
  3. Additionally, add chopped onions, green chilli and saute till they turn translucent..
  4. Furthermore, add tomatoes and fry till they turn soft and mushy.After that add carrot,capsicum and beans and saute for about 3 to 4 minutes..
  5. Drain the water from dal and add along with turmeric, kashmiri red chilli powder and coriander powder. Fry for about 2 to 3 minutes..
  6. Then add 1 cup of oats, salt and fry for about 2 minutes..
  7. Pour 3 cups of water and give a mix. On a medium flame, pressure cook for two whistle..
  8. Finally, serve oats khichdi warm after garnishing with some coriander leaves and peanuts..
